The state administration of Finland will organize a national cyber security exercise

The Cyber ​​Security Research, Development and Training Centre, JYVSECTEC, (Jyväskylä Security Technology), together with the Secretariat of The Security Committee of the state of Finland, are organising a National Cyber ​​Security Exercise 2019, namely Finnish State Administration (KYHA19vh),  from 20-24 May, 2019 at the IT Institute of JAMK University of Applied Sciences in Jyväskylä.

This KYHA19vh exercise is part of the continuation of national cyber security exercises that commenced in 2013. This exercise involves state administration organizations such as The Finnish Government Shared Services Centre for Finance and Human Resources (Palkeet), Kela (The Social Insurance Institution of Finland) and Valtori (Finnish Government ICT Centre).

The Secretariat of The Security Committee will review the KYHA19vh exercise as part of the cyber security strategy implementation program and the development of training activities. Mr. Vesa Valtonen, Secretary General of The Security Committee, will lead the exercise.

JYVSECTEC supports the enhancement of national resilience against cyber security threats with our expertise in hosting cyber security exercises. The Realistic Global Cyber ​​Environment (RGCE) environment enables organisations to increase their competence through realistic threat modelling, says Mr. Jarno Lötjönen, Business Manager at JAMK University of Applied Sciences.

The KYHA19vh exercise involves the joint activities of state government organisations’ management of large-scale cyber incidents. The co-operation emphasises the sharing of knowledge and the development of situational awareness. During the exercise, the organisations will manage and control incidents, examine and recover from various threats.
