The cyber security of food supply chain
The information systems of actors in the food value chain are developing at an increasing pace due to the digitalisation of agriculture and general technological development. Food production and distribution are critical to security of supply, and thus ensuring information and cyber security play a key role.
“If a large food industry company were to experience a widespread cyberattack, it could significantly disrupt the availability of food products”, says Elina Suni, the project manager of Food chain cyber resilience project.
By making cyber security part of normal operations and quality assurance, food production actors can secure the development of their cyber resilience to meet changing needs.
