Generative AI is transforming the business landscape and reshaping how companies operate. The rapid evolution of AI technologies is unlocking new ways to tackle complex challenges, offering clear opportunities for companies to enhance competitiveness, including optimizing core business processes.

Generative AI has advanced at remarkable speed, turning the impossible into reality in just a few years. As technology advances, increasingly intelligent models are opening new areas of application. Companies that adopt it early will gain a clear competitive edge over those that wait.

This project aims to boost the use of generative AI among companies in Central Finland through close collaboration between research organizations and local businesses. The work focuses on applied research driven by the real needs of companies operating in Central Finland. The project will carry out case studies addressing the specific challenges faced by companies and pilot projects with data from partner companies. Insights and results will be shared broadly with local, national, and international businesses.

The project will also share insights about the development, potential, and challenges of generative AI by communicating relevant information to various target audiences.

These measures will reduce the resource investment required for the deployment of generative AI technologies, which will increase the uptake of the technology by businesses in Central Finland.

Project objectives

The project will achieve the following specific objectives:

Objective 1: Applied research in generative AI has been used to develop and pilot innovative solutions that address the challenges of digitalization and competitiveness of enterprises operating in Central Finland.

Objective 2: A collection of tools and the necessary material for their use is available for companies to effectively test/implement generative AI solutions in their business processes.

Objective 3: Awareness of AI deployment is strengthened, and companies’ capacity to integrate AI solutions into business processes is developed.

Objective 4: Increased awareness and understanding of generative AI have contributed to a positive image of AI technologies.
