The Finnish Centre of Expertise for Cyber Security (FICEC) aims to become an international cooperation network. FICEC promotes research and development activities by investing in future expertise and sustainable solutions concerning the challenges of digitalisation in both the private and public sectors.

The Centre of Expertise emphasises excellence as well as cooperation and commitment between higher education institutions, business life and society.

Project objectives

  1. Research and Development Initiatives: Establish and launch research and development initiatives in Central Finland that promote digitalization and strengthen cyber resilience to support the needs of industry and the business sector.
  2. Promotion of Cybersecurity Awareness: Develop FICEC into a nationally significant actor in raising cybersecurity awareness and advancing cybersecurity expertise across different levels of education.
  3. National Cooperation and Resilience Strengthening: Actively contribute to strengthening national cybersecurity resilience and engage in structured collaboration with authorities, the public sector, and private sector stakeholders.
  4. International Positioning: Strengthen FICEC’s position as a leading European cybersecurity expert network and a sought-after RDI (Research, Development, and Innovation) partner.
