Operators and customers of critical industrial and societal infrastructures, such as airports, ports, power plants, construction sites and road networks, often suffer from outages caused by complex and sophisticated security threats. There are many safety monitoring and protection system solutions on the market. The solutions are based, for example, on a video camera network with integrated analysis capabilities. However, current solutions do not allow for the detection of complex, high-impact, and context-dependent criminal and hostile operations. Such operations include human or drug smuggling, theft, and physical and cyber attacks on infrastructure.
Jamk University of Applied Sciences is participating in the international Security of Critical Infrastructure by Multi-Modal Dynamic Sensing and AI (SINTRA) project, where its role is to develop a concept related to port operational reliability.
The international consortium of the SINTRA project intends to develop new technological capabilities that utilize artificial intelligence to combine data from multiple observational sources by the SINTRA platform.
