As from 7 August 2017, JAMK University of Applied Sciences has appointed Mr. Mika Karjalainen as Director of the Institute of Information Technology. Mr. Jarno Lötjönen has been appointed as Business manager  at the Institute of Information Technology. Mr. Karjalainen has previously worked at JAMK as Senior Lecturer in Cyber Security and he was responsible Appointments at JAMK

Ministry of Defence of Finland and the The Security Committee of Finland organise the fifth national cyber exercise with JYVSECTEC cyber security research, development and training center. Jarmo Siltanen’s, director of JAMK’s Institute of Information Technology, employment at JAMK University of Applied Sciences has ended. He will be replaced by Jari Hautamäki. This change has no effect on the Institute of Information Technology’s or JYVSECTEC’s operation. JYVSECTEC will continue its’ determined work on information and cyber security. The Ministry of Finance and the Finnish Defence Forces C5 Agency organizes the National Cyber Exercise together with cyber security research, development and training center JYVSECTEC. The exercise is held in Jyväskylä in JAMK University of Applied Sciences Lutakko Campus between May 16 – 19.
